On Sunday 3 April 2011 the new Premier Barry O’Farrell announced his full Ministry and administrative arrangements for the public sector.
As part of these new arrangements, an Office of Communities has been established in the newly created Department of Education and Communities.
The Office of Communities will comprise current areas of business for Communities NSW – sporting venues, sport and recreation, child protection and volunteering. In addition, it will include the Community Relations Commission, Veterans' Affairs and Aboriginal Affairs.
Other functions previously the responsibility of Communities NSW have been moved to other departments. These include the business areas of arts and culture, parklands, responsible drinking and gambling and western Sydney.
This website will be updated in the near future to reflect these changes.
