Better Futures

Better Futures is a state-wide program funded by the NSW Government.

The aim of Better Futures is to improve support and services for children and young people who are at risk of disengaging from community, school, family or friends.

Better Futures provides grants to community-based not for profit organisations and local government for projects which support social inclusion strategies for young people.

Comprehensive Review of the Better Futures funding program

Consultations on the future direction of the Better Futures funding program.

The Minister responsible for Youth Affairs, Victor Dominello MP, has announced a comprehensive review of the Better Futures program.

Minister Dominello wants to ensure that the Better Futures program aligns with the Government's social policy principles, and that there is strong and genuine input from young people, youth organisations and other participants in the youth sector on the priorities and issues it addresses.

Minister Dominello has asked that there be an open discussion on what the Better Futures program should look like and where it should be focused.

To ensure that as many young people and youth sector organisations as possible have an opportunity to participate in this process, an open forum and a series of meetings with youth sector networks will be held in July and August.
